To get to the conference

  • Airport:
    • the nearest airport is "Bordeaux-Mérignac". It is wotrth checking the airport web site for a direct low-cost flight to your nearest airport. There are also direct flights to many european hubs (Paris-Charles de Gaule, Amsterdam, Frankfort, Madrid, Rome...à

    • The cost of a taxi from the airport to the university is around 40-50 euros (depending on trafic).
    • There is no direct bus from the airport to the campus. You will have to go downtown first.
    • either with Bus "Liane 1" direction Gare St Jean. This bus goes trhough downtown and you can change to Tram B either in "Gambetta-Meriadeck" or "Victoire" to join campus. This bus is accessible with a TBM ticket (sold in the machines just outside terminal B). It takes about 1h10min to reach the railway station
    • Alternatively there is a direct bus to the railway station which takes around 30minutes+much more during peak trafic time (around 6.30-9.30am, 4.30-8pm)
    • Both buses depart from terminal B
  • Railway station:
    • The railway station is "Gare Bordeaux St-Jean". All intercity trains (TGV Inoui or low-cost TGV Ouigo) going to Bordeaux will stop at this station.
    • Intercity trains require booking and prices are lower for advanced booking. Check

    • Tram C goes through the station to downtown, it is connected to Tram B (campus) in Quiconce
    • Bus Liane 10, direction Beausoleil is direct from the railway station to campus (stop "Peixotto")
  • Downtown
    • Public transportation is operated by "TBM".

      The same tickets are valid for Bus and Trams. Single tickets (1euro70) can be bought from the bus drivers (not sold in the tram). There are also 2trip (3euros) and 10 trip tickets (13euros 70). All tickets can be bought from vending machine (e.g. at the airport outside terminal B and on each tram stop), TBM shops or authorized dealers.
      A mobile app is available for most phones. See the TBM web site for more information.
    • Bus/Tram tickets need to be validated on board (fines are frequent and costly for trespassers) and changes are allowed during 1hour after the first validation. A new validation is needed at every change. For information about ticketing
    • TRAM B is direct from downtown to the Campus (direction "Pessac" stop "Forum" or "Peixotto")
